The innovative, pioneering and independent Sound City launches its list of artists to book end the festival season in 2021. For its 13th edition F.A.B. headliners, with many more amazing artists revealed over the weekend in Liverpool.. From the Docks to the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool’s Sound City has played host to a vast range of artists and venues since 2008, but after more than 13 years the festival is returning to the heart of the city centre where it originally kicked off its festivities. The festival – will run from October 1-3, and take place across locations including the Arts Club (Theatre and Loft), Grand Central Hall, The Jacaranda, The Shipping Forecast, Jimmys, EBGBS, The Kazimier Stockroom and Leaf.

New acts have also been announced as Jessica Winter, The Dunts, Bad Nerves, Eyesore & The Jinx, Lily Denning, Jekyll, Pacific, Jaws The Shark, Mollie Coddled and more are set to join the line-up. On the announcement, Sound City MD Becky Ayres, said: “It has been incredible to see such a rapturous return for live music across the UK, and it’s only raised our excitement levels for the return of Sound City in 2021. Bringing such a diverse and thrilling lineup to the heart of Liverpool this October is something we’re dead proud of – returning to the original stages and vital venues in the city centre we all need to support at this time. We are delighted to have our new collaborators the Association of Independent Music co-curating the conference this year – and believe us no topic is off the table! From the pioneering independent-flag-flying labels of Domino Recording Company and Killing Moon, to exclusive platform-cracking tips from tech giants including Spotify, Facebook and YouTube. From the organisations educating and championing the need for greater representation across the industry, including Black Lives in Music and Keychange, to covering the latest technological trends and resources for artists at all levels – including all-things NFTs.

Sound City+ conference will bring together 100’s of artists, performers, labels, collectives, speakers, thinkers, showcases, collaborators, panels and more from around the world for an unrivaled three days and nights, sound-tracked by some of the most electric talent from around the world. There is no place quite like it, where a pulsating energy ripples through the festival’s many intimate venues and urban spaces. The dazzling weekend also celebrates Liverpool itself and all of its present and possible future glories, set across perhaps the country’s most dynamic cultural landscape in the shadow of the Anglican Cathedral.

They are joined by a wealth of initial talent including The Blinders, Tim Burgess, The Lathums, Stealing Sheep, The Mysterines, Jamie Webster and The Lottery Winners. Further support comes from Abbie Ozard, Alfie Neale, Bessie Turner, Catholic Action, Diving Station, Dylan, Elm, Far Caspian, Fever, Grace Lightman, On Video, Para Fiction, Sam Calver, Social Contract, Sophie and the Giants, Talkboy and Wargasm. Sound City is also the UK’s lead partner for Keychange. In 2019, Sound City+ was proud to achieve a 50/50 gender split throughout its speakers. The festival’s lineup champions gender equality and its first announcement is close to achieving parity towards the pledge for an equal gender split by 2022.

Sound City 2019 was for the DarkHollow team definitely the best one ever..
