WREXHAM is set for its own musicfestival, with over 3,000 tickets to go on sale. Wrexposure Music Festival will take place on the town’s Llwyn Isaf field and will see stars such as X Factor’s Matt Cardle and Chris Maloney perform. The one-day extravaganza of pop, which will take place on Saturday, September 20, has been organised by Eezy Events, who have recently been behind the popular Chester Rocks festival. They are working in partnership with Destination Wrexham, who are striving to improve the town’stourism aspect. An initial 3,500 tickets go on sale from the official website at 9am today, with tickets ranging from £21 to £56.
Organiser Chris Parry, who also organises the Soapstar Soccerstar matches at the Glyndwr Racecourse Stadium, said he hoped the day would provide a springboard for local acts. “It’s all in the name, we want to give Wrexham bands the exposure they deserve, whilst also putting on a top-class festival for people here,” he said. “We’ve got some great artists booked and this is going to be a first for Wrexham. Our research suggested the town is crying out for an event like this, which will be similar to what we saw at Chester Rocks. “Hopefully this will encourage people into the town and will provide an economic boost for businesses.”
Hosting Wrexposure 2014 is the very cheeky Kirk Norcross – Best recognised for being in ITV2′s BAFTA winning TV-Reality Soap The Only Way Is Essex. He has also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and has recently just hosted a radio show on CapitalFM not to mention he has an impressive amount of twitter followers! Over 1.2 million!

Joining Matt is pop/rock band The Hoosiers – The Hoosiers have had a double platinum number 1 album, a top 10 album and 3 top 10 singles. 2 of them being the very catchy Goodbye Mr A and Worried about Ray. They have just released their 3rd studio album in April this year.
Everybody knows Set You Free by N:Trance! If you haven’t partied to this whilst out on the town then where have you been? Everybody get their glowsticks ready! N-Trance have had 5 top 10 singles & have sold over 3 million records and are guaranteed to get the crowd pumping! Everybody loves a good boogie so we thought if we’ve got N-Trance then we couldn’t stop it there so we have booked the fantastic Livin’ Joy – This is one of those acts where you will know the songs more than the artist. Don’t Stop Movin and Dreamer Livin’ Joy have had 3 Top 10 singles including UK number 1 and like N-Trance they know how to get the party started. Keeping on with the dance music theme we have the gorgeous Redd who has collaborated with the worlds biggest rappers such as Pitbull, Snoop Dogg and Akon not forgetting one of her songs was listed in the charts for 27 weeks in 6 different countries! We then have local talent Kameelion from Rhyl who will also be joining the ‘dance line up’. Kameelion has BBC Radio 1 airplay and has just released a new single with Lilly Allen. Everybody get ready to bounce!
Changing the music genre up a little, we have the fantastic Loveable Rogues. After their Britain’s Got Talent success they have just recently finished touring with Olly Murs on his UK sell out tour, following the RPRT Tour they have just completed their own ‘The Monkey Man Tour’ up and down the country and have just brought out the single ‘Honest’ which you may have seen them perform on the hit ITV show. We are pleased to have them performing at this years Wrexposure. Keeping in the trend with Talent Shows we have the fantastic Christopher Maloney. Everybody remembers his first audition and it soon became a big hit on YouTube with over 19 million views on just one video!
This next group got called ‘The English Version of Hanson’ by Gary Barlow on X Factor 2013. Next of Kin are best known for making Nicole Scherzinger in the first auditions with their own song they wrote with their mum ‘Cant Find Me’. They received a standing ovation from all 4 judges! Before X Factor they were signed to former Spice Girls manager Simp Fullers’s 19 Productions, and signed a record deal with Universal Records. They supported Boyzone on their Smash Hits UK Tour in 1999. Their most notable single was ’24 Hours from You’, which reached number 13 in the UK Singles Charts in February 1999 and their follow-up release, ‘More Love’ peaked at number 33 in June that year. Mike Dignam – Mike is a young singer songwriter from Preston who won the Youth Music National competition at just aged 18. Since then he has gone on to write with some big artists such as Paolo Nutini and Jake Bugg. He has just finished touring with 5SOS (5 Seconds of Summer) on their sell-out tour & has just announced his own tour this year!
Urban Duo – Click22 who have been touring up and down the country with The Pride Festivals and last year getting to perform at The Millennium Stadium. They have also just put down the mics and put on their football boots playing football for Soapstar Soccerstar and SoccerSix, not putting the microphones down for long they have just brought out their latest music video!
Danny Gruff – After playing over 600 gigs in his 5 year solo career. Danny has shared the bill with the likes of Bastille, Lawson, Frank Turner, Mcfly and King Blues, Danny proves that you don’t have to have commercial success to put on a good show or write a good song. Danny recently started recording a new EP at Sticky Studios (Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, One Direction), which will be released in the summer.With the first single being ‘Smile’.
Danny’s EP’s are always met with a positive reception and have received BBC radio play and a lot of Sync’ing opportunities (one track even got played on Hollyoaks).
Luke Gallagher is a singer-songwriter from Wrexham. He has various EP’s out at the moment, and is gigging up and down the country honing his craft. His sound takes influence from the Mod music scenes, with the Mod scene and culture very close to his heart. At only 17 he can boast playing a Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green Shop in Liverpool and playing many gigs up and down the country including many in his home town in North Wales.
The Brittz – Think McFly meets 5SOS Are 4 young lads not been on the music scene long but have already made a huge impact.
The Suns are a local band from Chester and have performed up and down the country for many years. The group is made up of Liam – Thumpin’ & Hollerin’, Jono – Croonin’ & Screamin’, Rutter – Oozin’ & Slidin’, Dave – Crashin’ & Bangin’, John – Strummin’ & Oooin’ “The Suns are one of the few bands around making real garage music with a totally contemporary feel. Live, they’re …… brilliant. They’re the kind of band I want to be in” (Clint Boon of the Inspiral Carpets & Xfm)
Rainbreakers – To date, The Rainbreakers have played over 200 shows since their formation. Ranging from small pubs in their local area to established club venues in London, the four piece have performed extensively across the country to maintain a consistent momentum. In early 2013 the band were able to gain experience playing alongside emerging bands such as Catfish and the Bottlemen and Bluebottle Veins in reputable venues such as Central Station in Wrexham and The Compass in Chester.Most recently the band have played their biggest gigs to date including Rock and Bowl festival in Market Drayton, where they played alongside local talent such as Blues Boy Dan and Reign of Kings to name a few. Additionally, after winning the final round of auditions, The Rainbreakers were also the judges choice to perform at Chester Rocks Festival, where they had earned their place on the main stage to provide support slots for established acts such as Razorlight, The Feeling and the Hoosiers.
