The Answer: New Horizon: New Tour!

the-answerThe Answer are set to return in 2014 with a new album and full UK and European tour.

Keeping the beacon of Irish rock music well and truly alight, The Answer have consistently delivered commercial, and critically acclaimed albums. The band have also spent the last eight years touring the world and proving themselves to be an incendiary live act– spending almost two years as main support to AC/DC and playing to over 2 million people, performing festivals across the globe and also supporting the likes of The Rolling Stones, Whitesnake and Wolfmother as well as countless headline tours.

Since releasing their third studio album in late 2011, the band instigated a major shake up in their circumstances and with new management, live booking agents and record label on board, late 2012 saw them enter the studio with ex Little Angels vocalist Toby Jepson at the production helm. The new record, “New Horizon” is their fourth studio album and with mixes from rock icon Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) The band were also honoured and privileged that the late Storm Thorgerson and his team saw fit to design the artwork for the new album and Storm was working on final ideas for the album cover just before his sad passing. The Downpatrick quartet consists of Cormac Neeson (vocals), Paul Mahon (guitar), Micky Waters (bass) and James Heatley (drums). Cormac Neeson: “We’re back and we’re back in a big way. Our love for rock ‘n’ roll is still as fresh as a skinny dip in the Lagan (that’s the big river that runs through Belfast!) and we really believe that this is by far and away our best album to date. The first part of the New Horizon tour was absolutely fantastic and we’re back in a big way. We’re really looking forward to getting out in spring 2014 to perform in some towns and cities where we haven’t been for a few years. It’s a true ‘Road Less Travelled’ tour!!

“New Horizon sees the band at the most stripped down and intense. This is pure overdriven rock ‘n’ roll with absolutely no frills in sight. It definitely rocks!” – Kerrang, Sept 2013

“New Horizon is a blistering return to form and bulges with the kind of blues infused and euphoric hard rock that first made them stand out from the lazily retro hordes. New Horizon sounds utterly fresh and relevant today” – Metal Hammer, October 2013.

“New Horizon delivers in style and Neeson’s gravel-gargling vocals are stunning throughout” – Classic Rock 2013

Like Bob Dylan’s never ending tour on speed and following the successful “New Horizon” album release and Nov 2013 tour, The Answer are set to release their new single “New Horizon” which contains cover versions of Rory Gallagher’s “Cradle Rock”, Danzig’s “Snakes Of Christ” plus two new acoustic renditions of the new tour’s namesake track “Road Less Travelled” The five track single bundle will be released on April 7th 2014 in support of the new 32 date tour, that kicks off in Aberdeen on February 19th and runs right through until the end of March 2014. The latest video for “New Horizon” was directed by Darren Lee of Maverick Renegade Productions and features the now iconic Thorgerson ‘birdman’ on an rampage of his mind through the streets of Belfast. Says lead singer Cormac Neeson, “The concept of the video was based on an altered perception of reality and the inner struggle of the mind. Our birdman has some serious issues but eventually manages to conquer his demons!”
